- OpenCraft is the Middle-East and Egypt's leader in Open Source development, customization, and consulting services.
- In its efforts to advance the Open Source movement, OpenCraft has initiated its “ OpenCraft Sponsor Program “ to encourage faculty students to use, learn, and spread Open Source technologies.
- Part of our sponsoring is matching your talent with some of our society and community’s IT development needs. OpenCraft also as part of its offering will train and consult to guide you through the project.
- Our society and community is composed of Non Governmental Organizations (NGOs) that range from public libraries to hospitals.
- A payment from the NGOa will be your reward for successfully delivering your project.
- Students participating in this program can consider this project as their graduation project or regular Software Engineering project. Interested candidates will have to be willing to learn new Open Source technologies and to work as
- part-time at the company location or at home. Further they must be willing to conduct a meetings with NGO directors.
- Interested? Send your resume with a cover letter indicating why would you like to participate in our program and what type of internship are you interested in, as well as what do you expect to gain from this program.

Is this only restricted to CS
Is this only restricted to CS students? (okay, i'm a former CS student but now at College of Commerce and a full-time web developer)
I'm more of exteremly interested 'cause a) i would be so happy to work with NGOs 'cause people who work to serve our socaity for nothing in return deserve our respect and effort b) this is a way to be a better developer
should i assume that these NG
should i assume that these NGOs are not-for-profit, as well?
No
No it's not restricted to CS students only.
But as you know science is an important thing as you got the science and concepts you are welcome to join.

For the sake of discussion...
By what metrics is Open Craft the leader in Egypt and the Middle East in the terms defined in the first bullet?

Re: For the sake of discussion...
Good point, as usual. It was also raised in the recently-formed EGJUG, and answered there, hopefully to your satisfaction:

Cheers, Karim
Okay, so it's something of a misrepresentation
Though knowing the local market, if you're talking SMEs then you're probably on the money. I'd say you might be the most visible, FWIW.
Carlsberg's advertising uses the slogan "Probably the best beer in the world". Superlatives can be had, albeit at a price.
Anyhow, I hope Rady's business group proposition picks up momentum; it would be a nice opportunity to see you fellows again (apart from getting actual work done).
