what's the basic differences

although i've chosen GFDL, it was a not a very educated choice.
i read the CC licences breifly and looked at the GFDL page at wikipedia but i still can't determine the differences in the general terms. i mean what exactly is the license difference, i see both somehow permit redistribution.
for me what i care for is that my work under whatever license can be redistributed while maintaining the credits and the license (any body correct me please!).
i see that both licenses cover that but the GFDL goes more into technical details.
i'll read further but anyone who has a clear idea please contribute

the main reason to choose

the main reason to choose GFDL is to simplify copying content from places like wikipedia and the linux documentation project which use GFDL (CC and GFDL are not compatible licenses even if they seem to server similar purposes).

ReVOTE

We have 43 Seniors " including the Admins and the mods " the vote is valid as we have more than 51% of senior users votes but the 1st option is not majority "2/3" of total votes

Minimum number of votes for a poll to be considered valid shall be 51% the number of senior users, moderators and administrators.
A two third majority in the poll will be considered conclusive. All votes are equal. In case polling period passes without reaching a two third majority the option with the least votes is removed from the poll and the poll is repeated, when the number of choices is down to two.

so i think we have to remove 2 options and revote. if i'm wrong please correct me

To proceed

Two options.

1. We can continue as the charter says and remove the last option and vote again, then face he possibility of voting again, and so on. Which is a pain in the culo. 2. We can say to ourselves "right, this is cumbersome and annoying. Let's decide to apply the results of this vote directly, and amend the charter when the right time comes"

I got for the second option. People, please chime in here. If within 5 days (21 November) there are no serious objections in this thread then I will ask the admins to apply option 2.

huh?

what happened to the pedantic charter defender ?

I know the issue is taking too long.. but I think we at least follow one of the rules of the charter. remove two choices and extend the poll time.

GFDL

OKay GFDL it is, Why ? beacuse the last option is like you don't like/want any of the license.. and we can't remove any other option of CC-SA or CC-NonComercial since both have the same shares.

GFDL

this is the point removing the sherif option will not change anything about the next poll cuz it's already ppl who don't agree on any of the other options.
