This is an initial attempt for a letter to be directed to companies, don't use as is, read it carefully and edit it first

Dear Sir,

This is PERSON_NAME from Egypt Gnu/Linux Users Group (EGLUG). I was contacting you regarding one of eglug activity which is the installfest. Actually EGLUG makes an annual installfest since 2004, but this is the first time to make it in Alexandria. This festival is to be held in March 9th, 2009. You can learn more about the event by taking a look at the preparation page.

As you know, this festival is considered to be a community activity to populate free software and open source, as well as a community gathering for old and expert users and developers. Such a gathering happen to be of an interest to companies which uses/produces free open source software as COMPANY_NAME.

Such event is made based on contributions, volunteers do their effort for free, and this time we were lucky to be able to coordinate with the iTi to give us 3 floors of its building in the main post office building in Shohada square. Anyway such an event does need a certain amount of money to make our advertisement plan, print banners, ... etc. Such a fund is estimated to be only L.E 6000. We decided to make this amount gathered by contacting three companies as sponsors (L.E 2000 each). We already have two sponsors which are eSpace and vimov. We were wondering if your company is interested in being our third sponsor. You will have the company's logo printed on the flyers (10,000 one) and posters (250 one). those to be distributed among Alexandria and mainly targeted for faculties and youth-gathering areas, plus an online campaign too. Of course you will have a place to put your banner inside the event place, you'll be able to talk about your company and distribute flyers internally.
