انتهت بالأمس الفتره المقترحه لكي يتم ترشيح أعضاء لشغل المنصب الشاغر لمدير من مديري الموقع و بوجود مرشح واحد فقط و هو alienbrain و انقضاء الفتره المقترحه فسيتم ترقية العضو alienbrain لينضم لفريق مديري الموقع بعد موافقة الأعضاء الحاليين لفريق المديرين و هم

eglug.org finally moved to it's new home.

many thanx to Dirk Slater for hosting us for free.

this should be my last task as an admin, handover is complete now.

for a while eglug has been hosted on my old and struggling dedicated server, however there are many good reasons for eglug to move on to a seperate hosting setup, and most important amonf these reasons is our failure to figure a way to collect server fees regularly.

a few weeks ago the admin team (that is the old one), agreed to seek help from the larger FOSS community, we sent an email asking people to donate server space for eglug, recieved a bunch of great offers, most of the offers come from NGOs, these NGOs have boards and procedures and it will take time for any of them to deliver.

نذكركم أن ترقية الموقع تأخرت شهور عديدة مما سبب تعطل تنفيذ اقتراحات بتائة عديدة لتطوير الموقع و تحسينه.

أظن أن هذا التأخير علامة على تقصير من قبل فريق مديري الموقع المنتخب كما يمكن اعتباره أيضا جزء من خمول عام في المجموعة و قلة المشاركة من أعضائها القدامى و الجدد.

I know this sounds trivial on the surface, but it isn't and its quite important.

we've been discussing ammending The Member Class Assignment Policy for some time now to aknowledge code contributors.

please read the proposed ammendment which is essentially to replace the word event with the word activity to span all sorts of contributions.

We were supposed to leave rimu hosting and move to a new host, However due to time considerations and us being in Hurghada this didn't happen. We requested from rimu to give us until Wednesday so we can move.

I don't know what happened wrong but it seems that they've terminated our account on Wednesday the early morning.

This caused the website to be down for a few hours.

The current team of admins got together just now to decide what to do about the election situation. We have decided the following:

1. The next time the charter comes up for modification, we need to fix this issue (by saying that we use cron to close the election poll)
2. There will be ONE person leaving the admin team and TWO persons joining it. I (YoussefAssad) will be leaving and both Conceptor and Ezabi will be joining it. This is effective immediately.

Sorry for the mess; we're a young community. Our charter is also young and it will learn from our mistakes. Thanks everyone for your patience, and thanks to Roberto Ramsis for the idea to make both admins.

اليوم بدأنا فترة التصويت فى انتخابات المديرين لانتخاب 4 مديرين من ضمن 6 مرشحين.

تذكير سريع بالقواعد:

• الكل له الحق فى التصويت
• عملية الصويت تتبع نظام ترتيب بدل من اعطاء صوتك لعدد محدود من المرشحين مطلوب منك ترتيبهم حسب رايك فى من الاصلح لدور مراقب
• أفضل مرشح فى رأيك يحصل على ترتيب 1 و أخر مرشح فى ترتيب الأفضلية 6
• يجب ترتيب كل المرشحين
• لا يمكن اعطاء ترتيب واحد لأكثر من مرشح

الحد الأدنى من الأصوات المطلوب لنجاح الانتخابات هو 17 و تستمر فترة التصويت لمدة 10 أيام

• every member has the right to vote
• voting uses a ranking process, instead of giving your vote to certain candidates you will rank candidates according to you opinion on how suitable they are for the role of moderator
• the most suitable candidate gets a ranking of 1 the least suitable candidate gets a ranking of 6
• all candidates must be ranked
• you cannot give more than one candidate the same rank

minimum number of votes required is 17, election period will last 10 days.
